Re: Eisentraut
I vote for the real deal. Frame details and that seat binder are spot on. Here’s a pic of my TIG welded frame from probably 2010.

Stephen--did you ask him for more details about the geometry of the 'Traut?

I didn’t. I figured for the price, it would work for me or someone here...

I reached out to the seller and they were really fast at getting back to me but they could not or were unwilling to answer some basic questions about the frame other than it was a custom frame. They also weren't interested in taking more pictures to verify if it was brazed or welded etc. Obviously, at $450 it might be worth just picking it up but I'm unsure that the seller can/wants to answer some basic questions.

Vintage Colnago NOS - $2,250 54cm
Vintage Colnago NOS - $2,250
Vintage Colnago. 1988/89. This is a one of a kind. Bike is NOS and has never been ridden. Yes, you are reading this correctly. This bike has never been on the pavement. Frame was purchased from Europe many years ago, and I spent years finding NOS parts. Bike was professionally built. I have searched for years and have seen many beautiful Italian bikes, but never NOS that has not been ridden. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/b...200821684.html Frame: 1988: NOS Made in Italy: Original paint. Columbus steel Superissimo: Super with chrome head lugs and SLX tubing. Gruppo: 1989: NOS Campagnolo Chorus first generation. Entire Gruppo is matching box set. Rims: NOS Mavic MA2: Freewheel: NOS Regina: Made in Italy: Saddle: NOS Turbo: Bernard Hinault (The Badger) Stamped: Note: Purchase of bike includes a commemorative bottle of 2007 Brunello endorsed by Eduardo Colnago (see photo). I respond quickest to phone calls. Thank you. |

Did you see a geo chart for this Hampsten somewhere? That sounds like a great fit for me, but don't have the upfront capital to buy the complete build. This is internal brake cable routing short of a custom that I have in my head.
The seatpost collar with canti cable hanger is pretty funny tho |

Maybe my brain isn't adjusting to Covid prices, but $3000 seems a bit steep for a nice frame with a mix of mechanical last gen groupset, and mediocre carbon wheels.
The Geometry looks good for me, in as much as It's specified. Talk me into it, what am I missing value-wise?

![]() As for the price, the ActiveJunky 3% cashback will cover the shipping and you may get a discount code on top of that, so call it $2550 to your door unless you're paying tax.. I'd say $500 for the groupset, $600 for the wheels, $125 for the saddle, $150 for the bar/stem/post - so that leaves the frameset for $1175. I don't know about you, but that's a fair price for a $3K frameset in excellent condition from a top custom brand/builder. If it was a 58cm TT, I'd have hit the BUY button already. ![]() Last edited by Clean39T; 09-22-2020 at 11:59 PM. |

Can’t recall what your issue was with Battaglin. Was it a quality issue?
