Moots Carbon Gravel E-bike!

The Moots Express https://bikerumor.com/moots-express-...e-gravel-bike/

Gotta say I didn't see that coming. Trying to counteract my immediate impulse to crap on it. What does the Paceline say? This is....

A. Awesome. Moots understands the market and it's clientele. And more and more people are going to be buying an e-bike and would like to own a Moots e-bike

B. The day Moots jumped the shark.

C Fill in the blank

I know the first thing I think of when I think of Moots is carbon fiber. What a unique product they're offering in the marketplace... definitely not another "me too" design.

I applaud Moots for getting it out of the closet, and bringing to market a modern professional racing machine. Now we can all find wings on the Oude De Kwaremont like Cancellara once did.

why crap on it? because it's an e-bike? or carbon? or both of those things from Moots?
I know plenty of people who would not be able to ride due to minor health issues that would not be able to ride at all without an e-bike. Rather have them ride than not.
If carbon, like the article says would be hard to make an e-bike without using carbon.
If it's the combo of both, it certainly is a change and change can be scary for some people. Deal with it, don't buy one.
As for making a bike in another material other than Ti, there are plenty of companies out there that veered out of their lane and make something else entirely and have been quite successful. I sure wish Trek would have stayed in their lane and only make steel touring bikes. Or Specialized stayed with what they know best and only supply "specialized" European bike parts out of a van.
As long as this bike rides well, I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it. There are lots of die hard Moots fans who would rather buy a Moots than anything else

If Moots transforms themselves into Trek, they will be more profitable, if less unique.

"Heard" this was coming...A push by the new owners. What I didn't expect was it to be labeled as a 'Moots'.

Oh well...it's happened and many peanut galleries everywhere will either love it or not...NO doubt that it is the year of the 'E' bike...

I thought it’d be a carbon/Ti frame as Moots is synonymous with titanium.
Cool bike, though. Reading through the article, I thought, this could be a nice commuter to replace my Vespa. Then I saw the price tag.

Not sure how many they'll sell starting at $10k. Good for them if it works out. Hopefully if it isn't profitable it doesn't hurt the company overall too much. Have to admit it looks weird seeing their logo on a huge carbon downtube.

Moots has never made me weak in the knees- its always been a company that seems to sell really really expensive titanium bikes that largely look the same as, and sometimes not as nice as, other titanium bikes.

This new bike? Yeah that thing is not good looking and I have seen a lot of nicer looking e-road bikes and e-gravel bikes. Maybe the motor in this Moots is better?...the bikerumor article makes it seem that way, but still- thats a fugly bike.

I am not crapping on e-bikes in general, just that specific e-bike.
