Another vote for ExpressVPN. I have GCN+ and they recommended it, so that's the way I went. I took the easy route and bought one of the preconfigured routers from FlashRouters, but you can install the software yourself on a different router if desired. GCN lists some recommended (tested) routers.

Works fine.

I’ve done almost the same thing except I bought a compatible refurb router off Amazon for $20 and loaded the firmware myself, very easy and it’s been great! Just about any race is available and being able to airplay from my phone to any tv is awesome, highly recommend it

been using PIA for a few years, no issues, very reliable, good pricing..

but, located in the us, so not the same level of "protection" as being in europe or asia.. so they tell me

I use NordVPN on my Amazon Fire box and Tunnel Bear on my browser and both work really well.

Living in Bermuda I have the additional complication of not having a CC billing address that many streaming services will accept. It definitely makes things harder.
