Fender Recommendations for an OPEN

I hate to sound bougie, but I have an OPEN and want to get fenders so I'm more willing to get myself out when the roads are wet. I'm looking for recommendations since I'm generally a fair weather rider.

You really can't go wrong with PDW, Giles Berthoud or Honjo.

Is this for the U.P. that does not have eyelets? Or for the Wi.de that has eyelets?

a drill and zip ties you can make just about anything work. wrap friction points with electrical tape and you're good to go. I have done this old MTBs to make them more winter road friendly. I'd get the cheapie planet bike or SKS fenders (plastic-y) with this approach vs metal and a super high $$ frame though

Solution is a dedicated rain bike, for those 1-2 days per year that one would consider riding in the rain in San Diego.

😂

I am not sure the wide has eyelets, I think they have some propietary fender system for it.

I looked for fenders for my OPEN when I had it and did not find anything that is mildly elegant. Id probably just go with some ass saver type of thing but longer . I think a lot of people have asked for fenders so maybe their next iteration they will do that (and hopefully not proprietary crap)

I picked up one of these with the intent of using it as a rear fender on my Hakka MX. The SKS packaging did not specify it as a “front” fender but the shop I purchased it from is an Ibis dealer so I had opportunity to check it for fit on a Hakka they had in stock. The description states fit to 38 mm tires which works for me but likely not wide enough if you typically run anything wider. The rubber straps secure it well while allowing easy on/off. It actually rained the day after the below pic and it did its job. Probably will get another one for the front.

WIDE fenders from Open made by SKS. Attach to eyelets under the fork, top of seat stays and behind BB.
