Got addicted to them when I lived in Antwerp for a decade or so...back then, 20 years ago, Aldi there would always have them for about 90 cents for a pound or so bag...really cheap...was pleasantly surprised to find our local Costco now carries them...along with Chimay!

That may be true, but since I don't know of any place locally that makes them fresh I'll continue to enjoy them in my ignorant bliss.

Amen to that. The wife and I got one that was fresh-off-the-waffle irons at Albert Cuypmarkt in Amsterdam, right after visiting the Rijksmuseum.

Lovely place to visit; wish I had my bike (even if I'd get buffeted by the North Sea wind)

Energy snacks are the premium cons. Flat coke and a banana, fig newton, stroopwafel, all fine. Why pay a premium for stingers or gu or clif?

I buy a pack of wafels from Hema and I am set.

Trader Joe sells the smaller sized ones (diameter comparable to that of an espresso cup). At least if you eat five, it’s not as bad as eating five regular sized ones

The TJ in my area has ones that just fit over a large coffee mug.

Last time I looked for them in TJ (awhile ago), they only had the tiny ones.
Time to look again...

i haven't actually seen the ones in William's original post. I'll need to look harder, but just haven't seen them yet

Btw, that container can't be any more Dutch, with Amsterdam canal houses depicted to resemble Delft blue ceramic ware

Just ate my first 3 days ago. My wife came home from Costco with a package of the chocolate silver dollar sized ones. Yummmmm! Love caramel!
