They are my go-to snack option on United flights.

They sell them in my local 7/11 now, the Daelman brand, I didn't even know there were others. Love those things and they fit well in a jersey pocket.

If you've never had a fresh one from a cart, you don't know what you're missing..

A friend of mine hand carried some cart-made ones home from Belgium, they were great. Our local Dutch store closed, but we can get a couple Benelux brands at the supermarket here in Portland.

I picked up 3 boxes of Honey Stinger ones yesterday on the cyber Monday sale, I also occasionally get the ones at Whole Foods that come like 6 to a bag, I really love them but try to only eat them during rides.
I also need to hide them from my kids

I like Honey Stingers, too. But would consider this a cookie rather than an energy snack - kind of like Coca-Cola being an energy drink (although it worked for Indurain in the TdF)

Now you've done it. Something else to try to make. Found a video of a guy using a high E string from his guitar to slice them while still in the griddle. Off to Amazon!

My mother still has our family stroopwaffel iron. We used to make them as well as poffertjes over the December holidays. Fresh-made ones are always better than the ones bought in the supermarket but it is hard to get the stroop to make your own.

I only eat them before during, after, and between rides. The ones Costco sells are good but the once sold at Target are better....more spendy but more gooder.

I want one now.

These are gooder too! Get them at Trader Joe's, they are gooder for sure. Maybe not the goodest, but definitely gooder!

The cutting-it-with-a-guitar-string technique looked like it worked well.

That's what I was going to say. The best brand? From a cart at a day market! Stroopvafel and Poffertjes are best when they are still warm and made by an expert! The stuff you get on this side of the Atlantic are a poor imitation.

yep TJ's are lekker!

And while they may be tastier in den Haag, I prefer our seasonal traditions and controversies to theirs while enjoying one with hot cocoa.
