Burley Hudson, bright green (2005). I tour, train, commute, and just rode my first PBP on this bike. (84 hour group Z, finished in 82:22)
Jamis hardtail, orange (2004) for shredding single track
Jamis Diablo, red (1989) converted to single speed
Hercules Mixte, sparkly blue (early 1980s): classy German town bike for getting the groceries

Have to say this Merckx MXL rides really well. It's smooth, stiff, fun and not too heavy. And its looks put most modern carbon bikes to shame.

I got a titanium 31.8 quill stem from Ti Cycles in Portland this spring. Being able to use my favorite FSA compact bars is really great. 10 speed Dura Ace drivetrain with 11 speed DA crank.

Looks rad with those tires. I’ve seen this bike in pics you’ve posted and it always catches my eye!

It's more fun to make your own, now that I know what I want and have some experiment. This one is a low trail, allgroads, superlight Kaisei tubing, long reach brakes. clearance for up to 38c tires. As soon as I got the last braze ons for fenders on, I'll send it off for powder.... maybe I'll just do gun metal bluing and call it a day.

Is that 11 speed shimano with bar ends? Love it and have been contemplating a similar setup myself

Yes it is. Microshift MtB barends, Shimano XT clutched derailleur and 11-32 cassette. Like the friction option mode on the right.

I took a glamour shot of my Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen during my ride to add to the thread. I plan on replacing the wheels as not quite right for the frame. I used the wheels from another bike. I plan on getting a Dynamo hub. I also have fenders in order.
