Love it! I lived in London in the early 70s when my old man was teaching there and had one of these plus the thunderbird planes. Great…now you’ve got me hunting for one of these…but cheaper than a new bike!

It arrived today. I'm quite impressed with the quality, it even comes with a spare "bad guy"! Useful as the ejector seat sends the little guy pretty far. The only niggle is the driver is loose and he shifted position and the roof would not open. I managed to get it working and put a drop of glue on his butt to fix him in place. Just like 1968 all over again!

Nice Tim! Is that an original? Guessing if it is, you didn't get the original box (who would've thought to keep the box?)

I've been looking for a toy 67-72 GM truck to replace my actual 72gmc, which doesn't make sense for my life anymore. Someday ...

but if you glue him in, he can't be ejected! The 2nd gen (silver that I STILL have) has the back wheel spinning knife style knockoffs that extend, is that a 2nd gen only thing?

The driver was glued not the bad guy, who gets ejected. Yeah, the 2nd gen had rotating plates and pop out tire cutters.

No, as mentioned in the first post, it’s a modern reproduction. Click the Corgi Toys link I that post for more details, if interested.

I'm pretty sure that somewhere in an inaccessible upper closet in my parents' house there is at least one of my old Tonka trucks. (so this would be dating back to the late 60's, very early 70's) The one I remember best was an ~16" long cement mixer. It took four D-cell batteries in a compartment what was where the engine would be. There were levers on the side that controlled the fore-aft motion of the whole thing and the rotation of the drum. My favorite part was that it had a noise-making feature that was a low frequency "truck climbing a hill" noise. At one point I got some actual cement, mixed it with some water and put it in the drum...

I know many here were kids in the 60s so they may sympathize. I had lots of siblings so my parents rarely got us the pricey stuff. And my allowance really only made it to Matchbox territory, and later Hot Wheels. Same for Tonka trucks, we always seemed to get the less pricey knock offs. Corgi cars were always aspirational. However, the Bond car was the one I did manage to buy. Kinda silly but I'm looking forward to it's arrival!
