1) There's nothing subtle about that foul. 2) The referee and VAR crew should be removed from future EPL games. 3) Romero needs a 5 game penalty and a GBP100,000 fine. Tuchel was rightfully pissed off and watching him and Conti go at it verbally after the game was the first time I've seen him lose his cool. |

If so, they should check his bank accounts along with his eyes. Paid to look the other way. kick that guy and the VAR team to the curb/kerb. |

John Moss was on VAR; he's another shyte ref. The entire EPL is full of shyte refs, with Michael Oliver perhaps the only person who's truly above average (though average for EPL refs is an awfully low bar). The whole organization is resistant to any sort of changes, and the way it's implemented VAR is just awful, almost as if it purposely set-up a shyte implementation of VAR so that enough complaints would ensue so that the whole thing could be called off. I was also surprised to learn that a) the refs are subject to a lot of abuse as they work their way up the ladder and b) EPL refs are the least well-paid amongst refs in the top European leagues. Almost as if it's an English way of saying, we invented the rules, so don't any of you come in and tell us what to do. |

Thanks for the additional detail.
Hope both of them get the sack for their poor performance. Hope Romero cops the big fine & multi game suspension. Pulling the hair is just crap. |

I was reading an espn article that comes out every week reviewing the VAR occurences during the weekend. Long story short because they reviewed it at the time and deemed to not to be a red card no follow up suspension and/or fine can be applied. If it had been missed entirely ( not reviwed) a retro-active fine suspension could be applied. Stupid.

Instead, it was Mike Dean, who stepped down at the end of last season from on-field reffing. Dean is a bit less shyte than Moss but has a reputation for handing out cards (esp. red cards) a bit too freely. In any case, Dean now says he erred. Little consolation to Tuchel…. Though karma has struck, and Romero is now injured. |

Strange things happening at Chelsea
But let’s not take away from what Marsch and Leeds have done thus far. The Aaronson goal is textbook gegenpress: gave away the ball, chased down the Chelsea defenders, and forced a mistake that led to the opening goal. Good thing someone is stepping up while Pulisic is seeing little game time. |

Real got a freebie with that group, so did City because BVB are going to bottle it big time. No team good enough in A to challenge even a shaken Pool. B and D will be anybody's guess, although Spurs should make it. Bayern/Barca/Milan, that is the good stuff

Dayyum, Erling Haaland
Always knew he was good (I watch a lot of BvB 09), but Man City's midfield and wingers are a cut above. Went from 0-2 down to 4-2 win, and made it look easy in the process... |

Another hattrick against Nottingham followed. Seems the boy can play a little.
