Love my Fiskars

If the Fiskars won't go through it, there's a guy nearby who charges $50/hour to run wood through his gas splitter.

I split rounds, so a Fiskars maul for me. The shock absorption in the handle is not a gimmick.

Here is another vote for Gransfor Bruk splitting maul. Beautifully made tools that with proper care will last many lifetimes. Hultafors would be a close second. Spend the $$ on either one and IMO you won’t regret it.

I saw a video similar to this years ago. Looks like they updated it. Pretty neat process of how they are made.

The Fiskars lacks soul but there’s a reason the guys on the pro tour use them. Get the Fiskars.

Is that due to preference or contractual agreement?

Same. Mine is made by Hultafors though.

Another vote for Gransfors Bruk......they are the gold standard IMO.

For a maul, the Monster Maul was easily the best one that I've ever used. The original is long out of production but there are a few companies that make a similar product, such as this Collins. https://www.acehardware.com/departme...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
