Whhaaatttt?
I must still be digesting turkey. I don't get this thread. Is there a question? I don't see the title of the thread addressed here. Is someone looking for a serious discussion about track tire pressures and diameters? Please pardon me if I can't figure out the obvious here. |

And Marc, I should have bought back that Spectrum from Bironi and never let you get your dirty little hands on it. You don't deserve it. Nobody deserves it. I should never have sold it. Best bike ever. I'll never find one like that again.

Lane that beer can BMC is now hanging from the joists at Burnaby, all I ride is the Spectrum for mass starts. Lost a quarter of my face to Melanoma this past week so you may get the Spectrum back in the not too distant future.

I recently watched the rerun of Paris Tours and it seemed like most everyone was riding fairly large tires. They looked bigger than 32mm to me, but those guys are all really skinny so maybe I'm wrong. That's some very tame gravel. |

It would be pretty surprising is someone has done Charly Miller time (56:40) on 44s since RH is the only producer of fast tires in that size and 1. the type of person to do such a fast ride would probably also be 2. sharing that info with Jan.

You know the Silca tire pressure calculator has both wooden and asphalt tracks as a surface selection.
Under bike weight distribution, there’s an option for track too I added my weight plus a hypothetical weight of a 14lbs bike with 32s and the suggested PSI is 88. This calculator is to calculate the best PSI for the fastest possible air pressure and not comfort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Everyone's got an axe to grind in this thread, but one of the reason that track racers prefer high pressure is that g-forces through the turns and certain turns uptrack and downtrack on the banking can cause larger and lower pressures tires to fold. This is VERY unpleasant to feel at 40+ mph on 43 degree banking...
