Arundel Sideloader cages

I’m building up a dropbar MTB. Frame space is limited and to fit larger bottles, a Sideloader will work best.

How well do the Sideloader hold the cages? I have the Arundel Daveo cages and they are solid.

Thanks.

I’ve got the Arundel Mandible STR and STL and they’re great. I swap them into a bike when I’m running a partial frame bag and they hold a 1L bottle really well, even on gravel/dirt.

I have a sideloader on my mountain bike (and have for years now). I almost always carry a bottle there and have never come anywhere near losing a bottle. It is about as secure as I could imagine and still be able to get the thing out. Worry not.

Same here. Sildeloader and othersideloader on my Epic EVO and they work beautifully.

Been running them for years on a gravel bike through the roughest terrain WNC could throw at it. Never a loose bottle. Highly recommend.

A gotcha..

If you always pull out your bottles with the same hand and you're outfitting a bike with 2 cages realize you need one left hand and one right hand cage to put both openings on the same side of the bike. A cage mount on the seat tube is mirror image of one on the down tube.

I have been riding my fat bike all year with this being annoying cause I went and got 2 left handed cages cause I wasn't thinking and I like to pull out the bottles with my left hand. That means my seat tube cage requires me to use my right hand instead.

I personally wouldn't use them on a road bike or anything I was riding in a tight pack. For some reason I have trouble getting them back in compared to traditional cages if:

- I don't break cadence
- I don't look down

Some of it could be the ones I have are just extra secure, but it's not like I'm using loose cages on the road.

On a MTB where you're not in a pack those are no big deal and they are the right thing.

Ha! Thanks for the heads up! I usually like to pull from the right side from DT and left side ST. So I’ll have to keep that in mind when ordering. Thanks.
