Any paceline pals in Melbourne, Australia?

I am currently in Melbourne for a week or so visiting my folks. I have brought along my bike and planned on doing some riding whenever I can, was wondering if any pals on paceline are living in these parts of the world willing to go for a ride or show me around. I am staying close to Ruffey Lake Park. Please PM me.

Thanks for the generous offer, Owly pal, I actually don't mind bringing my own bike, to me it has become a habit like packing my toothbrush..

Today's ride - Ruffey Trail, Plenty Trail, Yarra Trail, Old Etham

Roos are checking out your ride👍

If you do have time, pop into Curve. Even if just to see the sweet, sweet, pink GMX+.

The Kangaroos were out on the field sunbathing. It's on the grounds of a place called Odyssey House - a rehab center. I saw them the last time I was here two years ago. There's a good O' climb right outside the compound called Bonds Rd after which one can turn around and come screaming back down hitting 40+mph without trying.

Give Local Loops Cycling Club a google while you're down there! A friend runs welcoming spins from the Pedla store there... You'll be more than welcome. Have a great trip.

Interesting. Did you switch your bar mirror placement to the other side to account for the fact that they drive on the wrong - I mean 'other' - side of the road there?

jealous! I need a trip like this one right now. Weather looks pretty nice.

My Aussie brother in law only talks about how much he loves the boiling hot weather - not the 'normal' weather of Australia...

I did. I swapped it last week week while I was in Singapore, they drove on the left side of the road as well. It usuall takes maybe 30 seconds to adjust but not before I rode on the wrong of the road in the Aussie neigborhood on my way back after a ride a few days ago. A white-colored truck came up towards me and was like "W...T...H..."

it's kinda cold, in the mid-50s, for me dropping in directly from Texas. But I am sure I will adapt in a week or so...and then ready to leave and go back to warmer climate in the US.

So you are the one to ask about how to pack one's bike so it doesn't get damaged despite all the repeated air travel.

Gorgeous photos of the gorgeous countryside. An associate of mine described Melbourne as "like Sydney, but even nicer!" (I had the pleasure of working in Sydney for a few months but never got to Melbourne.)

*Great* people in Australia! Hard working and hard partying.
