question: campagnolo power torque crankset install

Installing a campagnolo centaur power torque crankset

By the looks of it in the pictures, do you think I need to put additional spacers on the non-drive side before I install the crank arm? I don't have a puller, I don't want to find out after the fact and had to pull it out.

I'm sure someone here knows/has strong opinions on the overlap needed (I don't...), but I'll gently suggest that you're going to need a puller someday if you move ahead... maybe start that piece moving soon?

Wolfman is absolutely right.

That said, having installed PowerTorque cranks several times, I’d not look at that setup and think to myself that I’m gonna need spacers beyond the standard Campy install pieces.

But… some input from the old spud or gfk_velo would be worth waiting for.

Thanks for your response thwart pal, I went ahead and installed anyway, so far so good, no extra play, spin smooth and forever, thanks!

I installed one on my sons bike (don’t recall spacers issue) and it’s been trouble free ( typical Camp) for many years and still running smoothly. If u have to get puller eventually I can’t imagine it’s big deal.

That is indeed a good deal; sadly my days of climbing in a 53/39 are long over.

cgolvin, Maybe I am missing it, but I don't see anything about 53/39. I recently installed a Power torque 50/34 on my Alliance road bike with zero issues.

NO extra spacers needed, just the one supplied, wavy washer, covers, etc. Grease on the splines and YES, you'll need a puller to get the NDS arm off. Don't sully a nice piece of kit with sram spacers or anything like that.

Great system that gets a lot of bad press. Many pullers 'out there' to get the NDS arm off.

And YES, use the clip on the RH cup....
