Richmond, VA Rides?
I'm in Richmond next weekend for my son's rugby tournament. Any suggestions for a 30 mile training ride?
Thanks! |

I wonder if the Capital Trail would do. It's a multi use trail, but wide with good visibility, and requires no local knowledge. Also there are stores along the way.

Capital trail is probably easiest choice. Looks like the tournament is at Dorey Park, which is right on the trail and it's usually a little less crowded there away from the city. I've ridden there different times of year and it's a nice out and back. Go all the way down out the back of the parking lots and turn left onto the trail for 1/2 your desired miles then turn and head back.

What a wonderful day so far! The boys won 56-0. The downside is no other team is willing to play them... So tomorrow, because there a matches, I'll put big miles in. Today was about 32 of spinning. Cool bike trail!

Richmond is great, and Monument Ave is my favorite street. Not only the monuments but its filled with classic three story brick townhomes from the early 1900's. Just beautiful. And the Capital Trail is great. I did a four day credit card trip on the bike from Richmond to Jamestown, to Williamsburg, and to Yorktown, Newport News and back. Yorktown in particular was very interesting with a lot of history. Will be repeating the trip this year.

Dinner at LaGrotta. Perfect swordfish. I'm really blown away by the amazing good here.

Well hell... How this broke in the Iron Case is beyond me. I've packed that case and shipped it at least 100 times. Blame the TSA?
Anyone have a 11R or SR RD they'd like to sell at a reasonable price??? |
