I'll be there with a contingent from the Houston Gravel Grinders group. That forecast just says we need to hump it and get the ride done before the rain hits.
I rode the course 2 weeks ago. Decent. about 50% gravel. Not the largest, loosest gravel that I am used to around the Houston area. Was planning something closer to a road tire except the possible rain. So, will stick with Small Block 8s. There is 1 washout maybe 30 miles in. Not a problem. See it coming and can ride around it.
Looking forward to it.

I'll be on a black Cannondale Slate.

Mick pal, I hope to see you and say hello to you too.

I will either ...

...be on my blue surly trucker with the big fat Compass Switch back hills tires, with front and rear panniers racks painted the same color - you can't miss it.

Or....I will be on the blue d2r2 gravel bike with Panaracer Pasela 35mm tires w/o fenders.

The final decision will be made tomorrow morning, looking at the weather and whether I want to keep it slow and easy on the back or try to beat the rain by staying with the fast group.

Weisan,
Considering the forecast, I wish I had fenders. I'll keep an eye out for a light blue bike. There's a good chance it will be you.

I hope to meet up with the Houston Gravel Grinders as well. I've been wanting to do one of their rides.

Let me offer you another tip that might make it easier for you to identify me...I will have cameras mounted in the front and in the back...also, I will most likely be starting earlier on my own and riding ahead so that the front group will catch me at some point and I can capture video of everyone that eventually will pass me at some point.

I'm tempted to lurk behind but in frame so I can be the star of your video.

It was nice to meet you on the ride today, Weisan. I looked for you at the finish but didn't see you. I hope you had a good ride.

It was nice to see you out there Mick, I am glad we didn't miss each other even though I gave you misinformation about the bike I was planning to be on.

Sorry, I was parked at the state park, and went straight back to my car after the ride. It was quite a ride with the rain and all, it wasn't too bad.

It was so good to meet you and I hope we can ride together again. You have a fabulous rain bike.

I hope I get to see more of the video you captured on Saturday.
