You know you're a cyclist when...

When your "dress socks" are cycling socks.

Too funny. My wife and I went out to a nice dinner for her birthday a couple weeks ago, she wore the Paceline socks I bought her.

You Ride During The Week

Most tourists ride Saturday, Sunday & Holidays. You know you are a cyclist when you ride during the week.

You Never Use a Coat or Jacket

Most tourists, when the weather is below 60F, will ride with jackets.
You know you are a cyclist when you ride below 60F without a jacket.
We're talking wearing leg and arm warmers; wearing a hood under the helmet.
Tourists toss the helmet and wear their favorite head gear.

You Don't Use Flat Pedals

This is an obvious one. Most non-tourists use some kind of cleat/pedal system. I use SPDs on all my bikes/riding shoes.

You Use Gloves in Hot Weather

All non-tourists wear gloves when it's 90+F out. The grip feels better and some of the vibration from the road/path variances is absorbed by the gloves.

You're Into Your Third Helmet

All cyclist have taken spills. Many not their own fault. Many cyclists have damaged their helmets and had to get a new one. I'm into my third helmet.
