Ugh! Campy!
Finally building up my new bike after a car hit me.
Got Campy 12 Disc. Campy doesn't supply enough of the ridiculously expensive Max Smoothness housing to do full internal cable runs. Plus, no caliper mounting bolts. I mean, COME ON

Sounds very Italian.
OTOH, it's an opportunity to get yourself some titanium bolts. |

Mechanical groups never come with full length housing. And the caliper bolt length is very specific to the dropout design; they are ordered separately.

Is that a feature or a benefit?

Say what you will about the tenets of Campagnolo…

So I guess they're saving the shift housing for the new electronic groups?

I experienced the same thing when building my campy 12 bike. I got sets of the Jagwire Road Elite kits for this reason but sold the group before i got around to installing them. Lmk if you want the shift kit for cheap!

All mechanical shift cable sets, regardless of manufacturer only include normal length housing. As much as people love to dunk on Campagnolo, same thing would have happened if you bought a Shimano or SRAM mechanical group.
As others have pointed out, FM caliper bolts are specific to the fork/chainstay flat mounts, which is why they are not supplied. |

Also, you can use most of the high quality outer housings (prev gen Campagnolo, top line Jagwire etc) as long as you keep the Maximum Smoothness cables. |

I am building a new Time ADHX 45 with Campagnolo Super record 12 speed mechanical that requires shift housing from the shifter to the bottom bracket where the stops are located. This thread seems to point to using Jagwire housing when longer housing is needed.
Can anyone comment on long term experience with running Campagnolo 12 speed with longer housing? Or, are there any sources for longer Campagnolo Maximum smoothness Shift housing? |
