Campy Upper Spring

sorry if this is a repeat.... Looking for help replacing the upper pivot spring on a Chorus 11 Speed rear derailleur(non c-clip type). I'm fighting some chain slap and have gone through all the chain length setups and have everything shifting wonderfully, but with the roads in upstate NY I hear it all too often. I did increase the tension slightly by inserting a small shim between the upper stop and the hanger which did improve the situation and proved (in my logic...) that the spring is the culprit. Thanks!

A question out of pure ignorance--do the Campy 11 rears not have the extra hole that lets you increase the spring tension that is there on the 10s?

Yes, they do, part number RD-SR-016 BUT starting in 2012, that back plate/bolt assembly can't be taken apart and put back together w/o a special tool..that Campagnolo NA has.
So, if that plate is held on with a clip..yes, you can take it apart, move the spring end over one hole, and put back together.
