Help with DT freehub conversion

I need to convert this wheel from SRAM XD to Shimano 11, 12/142.

https://www.dtswiss.com/en/wheels/wh...rc-1400-spline

The DT conversion info says to use this

Freehub body:
Rotor Aluminium Shimano light s 11speed road, black
Material number HWRABL00S2799S
Freehub body Shim. RD. 11SP Light S ASLS11

https://www.dtswiss.com/en/support/p...140NID1CO10664

I can't find that part number available anywhere

This is available but it's part number HWYABX00S2775S:

https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/col...0-and-440-hubs

Will it work?
I have the axle spacers, just need the freehub.
Emailed DT last week, no response...

Unless I'm missing something that standard 11 speed aluminum body should work. I don't think the hubs are specific to any particular manufacturer.

For what it's worth, I just built up a wheel with a DT350 hub and bought a steel hub body because I hate the idea of the aluminum jobby getting all notched up. It's super easy to just grab and pull the freehub body off. Nice design.

Looks like your wheelset uses the standard DT Ratchet design, not the new Ratchet EXP, so yes any DT ratchet freehub body should work, alloy or steel.

You mean a 3 pawl ?
If he's missing that, competitive cyclist usually has them. I have one as a backup in case i stop my hub.

As far as I can tell, the new Ratchet EXP bodies are the same as the non EXP. The big difference is the inner ratchet is now threaded directly into the hub so there's 1 less spring and 1 less moving part. You just need to transfer the red spacer to the older freehub body before installing the spring.

I'm actually running an EXP Microspline body that someone gifted to me on a non EXP hub and it works fine.

What sucks is that you can't just swap out the ratchets on the EXP hubs. You need a special tool to unthread the inner ratchet. And if the new EXP prices for the bodies are any indication, the new ratchet sets are probably ridiculously expensive. The non EXP 54t upgrade is already $90. I imagine the new ratchet sets to be around $120. And that's not including the proprietary tool needed to unthread the ratchet.

Thanks DT.

I'll be sticking to the 350s for now. Even the new 350s still use the old dual spring/dual ratchet system.

I believe that, beyond the QR endcap, those freehub bodies listed above are identical. Spacing is different on the endcaps between Sram and Shimano, so you'll still need to locate a 12mm thru endcap for Shimano HG.

If you don't need the 11s specific body, I've got a brand new 10s with endcap. What cassette will you be using? Most wide range cassettes don't need the 11s road body. 11-32 and lower will need the 11s body though.

ratchet, non-EXP, 11-28 (unless I can find a medium cage campy then 11-32)

I thought I was ingenious for a second - pulled the body off an older DT hub to test fit... 3 pawl.
