Touching up micro chips in carbon clear coat?
I just wanted to ask what everyone uses to touch up very small chips and scratches in the clear coat on carbon frames? Like the bottom of the downtube and front of the seat stay where you end up with tiny chips over time that are probably a millimeter or two in diameter. I'd like to take an artist brush and basically brush a little into the chip itself to hopefully provide a little protection. I just wouldn't want to use something that reacts poorly with the clearcoat. Thanks!

You can buy automotive grade clear coat, which can be applied with a brush. From there I'd use a polishing pad on a drill with a relatively mild compound to knock down any raised edges.
Throw a piece of paint protection film / helicopter tape on afterwards to prevent any future chipping! |

Ordinary nail polish works for gloss clear coat. Matte clear coat is more difficult to make repairs to, which is why I'll never own a matte finished frame.
