Anyone try the new Zipp Service Course SL-80 "ERGO" ?
The shape appears to be very Ritchey EvoCurve 'esque with flatter tops and a bit less reach. I was going to pick up the Ritchey which I have on another bike, but the SL-80 Ergo is intriguing and I have generally liked Zipp bars.

I have used the SL-70 version of the Ergo bars and found them to be excellent. I had the carbon version to help with the dampening somewhat. I liked the nice traditional bend combined with a shorter reach without it feeling compacted when in the drops. But the wider flats was super comfortable over a round bar and not as exaggerated as an aero bar. The lever positioning worked nicely with transition to the hoods.

oops, please disregard my previous reply because I read more closely, and you were asking about the new style SL-80 with the flat section. Mine are the older SL-80 that are round all the way.

SL80 Ergo is the only bar I use. Just swapped my second bike from SL70 Ergo
I like the drops on the 80 much more than 70. |

These sound and look good. 80/125 is a really good spot IMO.

Deda makes a set that are very similar to those. Been running them for years and they are great. They also will take internal cables for EPS/Di2.

Is there a difference between using the SL70 with 110mm stem vs SL80 with 100mm stem?

Aha, that was going to be my next question.

I was just in my shop building up a bike with these very bars, except the carbon version. Make sure you get the DCR version, which has the superb routing as pictured. Merlin is the best source it appeared and got here faster than UPS in the US ;-) Very nice flat perch and hood transition. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
