Yep, full legal 04 STi engine and 6MT swap. Took some doing but worth the hassle. Next is cosmetics.

For me, it would be an Alpina BMW 3-Series (sedan or Touring), or a first-gen Ford Focus RS...

The Stratos are indeed lovely but don't meet any of the criteria. I have had the pleasure of going for a ride in one.

I owned a Renault Alpine for over a decade. The reason for which the need for reliability and not overly hard ride criteria came from (and the Alpine is far more reliable than the Lancia!) When I was living in Turin, I lived just down the road from the Bertone factory, where one of my neighbors was a shift foreman. While in Turin, I brought my Alpine to the carburetor specialist of the Martini Racing rally team to get it set up properly. After getting the carburetors set up by this fellow, the car literally sang. No specialists around here to keep such a car in tune.

B5(99-01) Audi RS4 Avant,

Never brought to North America, enjoy it for a few years before they become legal down south and likely collect a nice profit a few years down the line. Plus it can easily fit a few bikes inside.

that would be an amazing and practical vehicle if you could find one in good condition. BMW is a good choice too; i wouldnt really want to get anything too too exotic or obscure or finding parts ore even routine maintenance items might prove difficult.

Seems the OP is seeking sportier varieties.

Me, especially if I live up in CA... Probably a nice Citroen ID-19... With a stupid good sound system subs etc etc..

Or sportier, if you are a gluten for the Maserati engines, maybe an SM?

Be careful what you wish for though...
