Pretty much this entire bike. I have spent years being thrifty on bikes and this was a fun exercise in excess

I just bought a Peg, an absolutely indefensible purchase. And yet, I'm glad I did it. Thank you for providing this confessional. I feel much better now.

Anything I've bought from Silca lately seems excessive to me. $249AUD for a f....ing frame pump.

Yes I bought it....and another.

+2 for that pump head. It redeemed a fine pump from an otherwise useless pump to tire valve connection.

Boutique inflation tools
$88 Efficient Velo pressure gauge, $78 inflator, head only. This in addition to the modestly priced but also very nice Arundel combination inflator head and pressure gauge at $59. I also have a Presta cycle Prestaflator which is the same price as the Arundel but not seem on the same boutique-y-ness level

Edit: As I recall, that Hirame pump head may have started me down this path. I wound up getting the Arundel Hansel instead which is jewel like and seems very similar. Alas it is still sitting in a drawer. The other EV and Arundel tools do see regular use.

I actually bought the $90 version because I thought the thinner wire version ones looked too dainty

I'm grateful that the $1,049 EE Wings crankset has a whopping 160mm Q factor and therefore won't work for me.

All of my bikes are guilty pleasures - I have no need or skill or fitness to "deserve"/ "need" any of them. I would probably be just as fast on a stock aluminum tiagra bike vs my dura ace moots or ultegra speedvagen.

My list of guilty pleasures, after the bike is long-

Incoming guilty pleasure - dekerf tuning fork for my 25 year old dekerf - could have gone with a cheaper carbon fork, but chose to go the silly route.

Work stand - had a functional cheap ultimate recreational model stand - did the job, saw a park prs 22.2 on sale and got it.

Slowly replacing cheap tools with good ones, park cable cutter for a set of knipex, wera hex keys, abbey chain whips and crombie, abbey crank bolt tool, abbey 4 way multi tool.

Only tool I can't bring myself to buy is an expensive chain tool - only need it once a year - that is too excessive.

When I first started riding I had a road bike and a commuter and would switch the saddlebag and minipump to whichever I was riding. I starting making more money and got more bikes, which is a luxury in itself. But the indulgence for me is that now every bike gets it's own bag, repair kit, and pump. At this point I think I've purchased 6-7 Crankbros M19s and the same amount of Topeak minipumps. As well as bags, tire levers, plug kits, etc.

I have 5 or 6 different repair kits that move between bikes. That is a lot of tools/pumps/patch kits/ etc. Holy Moly.

I'm pretty sure that makes you one of the more frugal members here. Well done!

When my first custom turned 15 last year, spending $40 on a Sachs seat lug bolt seemed frivolous.

I don’t regret it though, and the Twizzlers were delicious.
