Strava's obsession with mobile home/trailer parks?

Does anyone have any insight as to why Strava maps feels the need to point out the location of every mobile home/trailer park that exists everywhere I ride?

So you know where NOT to take shelter in the event of a tornado?

To help you avoid high concentrations of diesel pick up drivers who are p*ssed off at everyone because they have a 70K loan on a vehicle?

That's not very funny... Well, at least pretty funny.

I doubt it's Strava directly, maybe just a map feature and it coincidentally looks like you have a lot of trailer parks near you.

What kind of bike so you have listed as your "equipment"?

It might be time for an upgrade so Strava's AI directs you to more upscale real estate options?

It's a real estate feature

Because your bike has to cost more than your dwelling

Here is my wild guess: they think they are pointing out parks, i.e. areas for outdoor recreation.

The trailer parks near me don't show up with any prominence.

I'm not as familiar with Mapbox, which Strava seems to use, but does everyone see the same features highlighted? On google maps, I know the locations they highlight are based on my individual search/visit history. Maybe you keep visiting trailer parks, so Strva thinks you like them?

I think it is the default for the SDK for Mapbox that strava uses for a certain zoom scale in the map. In you use a more detailed zoom scale, you will get other map features.

Mobile Home Parks are generally larger areas so in a map without a lot of detail they just show up as features. It's like showing only main roads and not all little side roads in the area too will be my guess.

Yeah probably not a Strava feature as much as whatever they’re built on top of. It was the same way when I was living in Palm Springs!

I have the same wonder as you do, and I'm glad I'm not the only one. Some months ago,
