Visiting my folks in Western Mass so I enjoyed a nice 50 miler to the Quabbin Reservoir. Put on the Rene Herse 35c tires—smooth ride but feel slow on the road I must say. Probably psychological.

Ross 508 Triad, in west Asheville.
Not quite as smokey as it was yesterday, but still a bit smoke-hazy today.

Finally, after a number of hot and worse humid days, the last couple days here in NJ have been nice and pleasant. quick spin tonight and a long ride planned for the morning.

fortunately, beer counts as carbo loading for the work ahead.

Got out for the first ride on the Cielo today and really enjoyed it. Hit the Oppenheim Trail blazers clubhouse trail and rode it to Stewart's Landing.

Well, decided to do a leisurely ride today so I hopped on the Guv'nor for 41 miles. Stopped a bit to grab pictures along the way.

Outside a local coffee shoppe:

Today's steed, heavy, 3 speeds, and so comfortable and fun:

Creative fencing:

Huntsville Town Square:

Totem pole in town:

The color caught my eye:

Then I noticed this, Ft Benning's on there, "AIRBORNE"!

These pics illustrate how much smoke is in the air from the western fires:

Was almost back home when I ran into this rig. Grew up on a horse farm and we used to cross breed a Shetland Pony mare with a Walking Horse stud and then I'd train the colts for use with a two wheeled Sulky.

Met up with the one and only Herb for a ride this weekend. Didn’t get many pics as I was too busy huffing and puffing but it was a beautiful, scenic route! #NonDriveSidePics

Photos from your rides.

Getting ready (maybe) for a 200mi ride in mid-August, so a solo century was on for today.. Finished the 100 in just under 5:30 and felt pretty good despite the heat and semi-crappy air - looked worse than it was, somehow. Not sure I can fathom doubling up the mileage though, even knowing some drafting would help it be a bit easier than trying to do all the miles solo. Oh, and NBD (new bidon day.. ).

I met up with my best friend from elementary school for the first time in 30 years (Facebook isn’t completely horrible!) and he led me on a great ride on wonderful Franklin county roads. My own exclusive D2R2! I felt a bit under- biked at times on Bon Jon 35c tires, but a wonderful day in a beautiful part of the world.
