If you go with SportRX, you won't have to decide on a frame that will handle your scrip...they'll tell you.

And if your vision is anywhere near as bad as mine, it will be a Very Short List that they offer.

lol. I use progressive lens glasses but also have a stigmatism in my right eye which makes things tricky. I plan on speaking with one of the consultants tomorrow.

I just received a pair of Roka regular glasses with progressive lenses and the got the prescription 100% correct. I'll likely order another pair of the everyday frames and have transition lenses put in for sports (including cycling). Great service and the glasses are lightweight yet durable. My model is the "Rory"

I have a few pairs of Oakley's (Portal, Anorak, Crossrange Patch) with lenses (2x mirrored, 1 photochromatic) from local eye shops. Just ordered a pair of Roka SL Series glasses cause I wanted to try frameless glasses.

Score!

I ordered the Oakley Plazma in progressive RX.
The order is pending optician approval.
I didn't completely max out the options and with a discount code got in for just under 500 clams. Not bad.
Carbon frames with the bronze lenses.
I should be styling.

Thanks for all of the valuable intel here...

SportRx Smith Attack Mag. Also bought goggle inserts from SportRx for skiing/snowboarding. My vision insurance covered a good portion for the cycling glasses. I had a hard time locally looking for "cycling" prescription eyewear.

And those Hydrotac reading inserts look interesting too.
Oakley Flak 2.0 - $176
Progressive lenses with Transitions and anti-reflective coat - $698
Shipping - $15
TOTAL - $889

If you get Oakleys, might want to ask if shop can make lenses for you. My place made lenses instead of having Oakley do it and saved me a ton of money for identical look (they’ve held up for about two years so far).

I'm still using my trusty old Briko I got like 15 years ago, but the inner lens holders plastic is near EOL. Anyone has experience with this? - > https://www.icoatcompany.com/inscribe-digital-lenses/

My Oakley half jacket with progressive bifocals and mirrored black lenses was over 400 less than that. I did catch a sale. Current price is $521 with no transitions.

Can we bring this back? I keep stalling on Rx cycling glasses but probably shouldn't.

Any new options out there? Anything decent that isn't too spendy (or is spendy the right answer)?

Inserts vs. full lens? I'm a 3-way progressive but nothing severe.

Favorite frames?

Thanks in advance. Any input appreciated.

I just use my Lindberg frames with transition lenses. They are appropriately light and useful in all conditions. Years ago I used Oakleys but it’s a hassle to go back and forth.
