Tell me your experience on Di2 Durability...
Have you guys ever had Di2 components break down on you? How long have you had your Di2 stuff and how many miles have you put on them?

Bulletproof. Other than 7970. Did have a random battery failure with first gen Ultegra, but since then golden. Why, grasshopper? Did yours puke?

It's the most reliable, trouble free, easy to maintain electric system
I used to poo poo electric and didn't see the point, until I used Di2 for a few weeks. It's really good. The main difference between Ultegra and Dura Ace is that DA uses Shimano servos and Ultegra uses brand name servos. Functionally, there's less difference than the mechanical counterparts. I think I'm going on 3 years and no problems. |

Over a year and it's been rock solid except for one time when a cable came lose and the system stopped shifting. Not too difficult to diagnose and get back up and running. Probably came lose because I didn't connect it sufficiently.
Never needs service. Shifts great every time. You just have to plug it in every couple of months. |

My wife has had Ultegra Di2 on one of her bikes for 6 or 7 years, puts ~5,000 miles a year on that bike, and has never had a single component break, go bad, behave wonky, do anything other than just work.

I've had two internal batteries die due to excessive moisture (in a frame that didn't drain very well). A friend also had an internal battery die for the same reason (the bike was kept in a dank garage).
I'd still recommend Di2 because other than that, I've never had an issue. Over the years I've crashed several times and never broke anything. Shifts are perfect every time and the battery life is so good you almost forget to charge it. Plus you get to use secondary shifters which really add to the practicality. |

A few years ago I had 6770 with an external battery on my crap weather bike and it performed flawlessly >10k miles of riding. I was the second owner and I'm fairly confident the first owner never changed out any parts.
I now have the newer 6870 and it's been great so far as well on a different bike with the internal battery I also have etap and while I've had no problems with it I have more worries about it performing as well in adverse conditions than I do the di2. |

Have Ultegra Di2 for almost 3 years. No problems other than I went down on the drive side and had to replace the RD.

Perfect
2 DA Di2 systems
Approximately 39k miles Shifts perfect I don’t remember the last dropped or thrown chain Chains seemed to last longer No broken shifting cables External battery life 350-400 miles per charge Newest seat post battery 🔋 about 520-550 per charge Could any one let me know how that ranks on the charge Thanks

For those in Nor Cal who know what the Terrible Two is all about, I was climbing Scaggs on the TT last Sat when some guy who I recognized who should have been way ahead of me closed up behind me struggling mightily. He was stuck in the big ring on Scaggs (ouch!!!) due to Di2 not working.
That just never happens with manual shifting. So I for one just don't get it. But I had no sympathy for him because at least he could coast (I was fixed (bigger ouch)). |

Ultegra 6870, have had it 5 years and it's about to go on a new frameset. no issues with it at all on a cross bike in the upper midwest in a lot of crap weather.
versus a cable-actuated shifting system, the di2 bits are effectively zero maintenance outside of charging the battery. |
