Dylan's 30th was really good.
Concert for Bangladesh-long forgotten because its not streaming
Sunshine Daydream-you have to torrent this one, but perfectly captures the Dead's 70's vibe

Nothing tops Stop Making Sense. Here are a few close seconds:

Nirvana - MTV Unplugged
Elvis - '68 Comeback Special

And although Zappa's Fillmore East album wasn't filmed, my mind's eye sees it all play out in glowing Technicolor.

In terms of pure cinema I agree. About Stop Making Sense that is.

The Rolling Thunder Review.

Dylan was before my time. Never really understood his mystique. But this film has garnered great reviews and it's been directed by a master (Scorsese).

I'm looking forward to seeing it ...

On Netflix already. He remains inscrutable.

"Rolling Thunder Revue" is very good. The concert footage is really well assembled. I just wish Scorsese had spent more time on the back-stage/rehearsal/improvisation aspects (which I think are a huge part of Dylan's life from Big Pink onward) and maybe a bit less on the historical context and some of the interviews, and definitely the mockumentary stuff. It felt like the film needed to be both longer and better edited. But I will watch it again soon, it is worth re-visiting even so soon after.

Always liked Zeppelin's Royal Albert Hall show from 1970:

Encore ends with "Bring it on Home"...Bonzo just killing it.

I'm going to put this out here. "Journey: Frontiers and Beyond" just for the over the top narration by the legendary NFL narrator John Facenda.

"Shut up and play the hits," the documentary on LCD Soundsystem's final show, has fantastic concert footage. It's on Hulu.
