Is a lugged steel frame with mech. and rim brakes analogous to a fine analog watch?

I have a long-term project that is getting a bit closer to fruition. While I have a variety of different modern and modern-ish bikes (see the galleries), I'm particularly excited about this project involving lugged steel with mechanical (Campagnolo of course) and rim brakes. I was thinking this evening that a bike like this is an analog bike analogous to a fine analog watch. What does the peanut gallery think of this analogy?

This is a way to distract myself from a plumbing leak and resultant damage being fixed right before we have family coming to stay with us and needing to make big grown up life decisions. Maybe, if I keep dreaming of bikes, that will keep me from getting old Perhaps the same with sports cars.
