Retiring my HRM

In 2003, I purchased a garmin 305 that came with a heart rate monitor. I've had it since. Always worked, actually changed out the elastic strap once in its lifetime. I'll keep it laying around in case the new one fails.

21 years is a pretty good run, especially for modern electronics.

I'd say the darn thing belongs in the Smithsonian!
I just retired my toaster oven, purchased in 1999. I replaced it with a Ninja Foodi air fryer. Kinda like index shifting and disc brakes, the new model has great capability but is more complicated and I wonder what its durability will be.

That's a great run for any modern electronic device.

I have some cast iron cookware that's about 100 years old. And no, I'm not the original owner.

My heart rate monitors all seem to die within about a year. Jealous!
