Last time I drove a stick was in '98, some forgotten econobox I rented to drive around Spain for two weeks.
Only two opportunities since were my brother's Viper and a buddy's GT3, both got a big NOOOOO WAY from me. |

How many tickets has your brother gotten in that?
Going home late one night last week (from work) I blew through a stop sign on a totally deserted country road at 2:30 AM (but did have to slow down a bit because it was a T and I was coming up the vertical portion of the T and had to take a right. It turned out that the car I saw coming from the left, but still a fair distance away, was a police cruiser. Dark road, no street lights, no house lights, nothing, so there was no way to see what it was at the time. He followed me a bit, then I sped up so he wouldn't be right behind me (again, I thought it was just a kid wanting to have fun on a twisty road). Speed limit was 30, I was probably doing at least 40. Eventually he lit me up (Surprise!) so I pulled over. Turned out he was in a good mood, because I could have gotten tickets for 1) failure to stop at the stop sign, 2) speeding, 3) not having an up-to-date proof of insurance, but he let me go with a "written warning" for the stop sign thing. (which I assume is now on my record if I get stopped again any time soon) Had I been driving a Viper, but had behaved exactly the way I did in the Impreza (non-WRX) I'm nearly certain that I would have gotten at least one ticket. |

None that I'm aware of (haven't asked), but he's a pretty safe and sane dude who saves his juices for the track. There's also the fact that he's been in TX for the first few years of ownership. He recently retired and moved to CA so that all may change.
