OT: Last time you drove a stick shift car?
Per Jay Leno anyone born today will likely be only driving an electric when they are old enough to drive. Like how many people today drive a stick shift car:

My father drives one every day. Won’t find me choosing to drive a stick but I rarely drive, maybe about five miles a week if that most times. Point being I don’t like driving cars.

Last night. 2009 Ford Fusion - the last year they made a manual transmission for it.
I'd be in the queue for a maverick if they offered it with a stick. Driving is just so much more engaging when you control the transmission... I'll enjoy many aspects of electrified autos, but this is a clear loss for me in driving enjoyment. |

Hmmmm.... Sometime in 2017 when I sold this.
That said, I just cannot get the urge for another Miata out of my blood and that has to be a stick. So.....I think pretty soon the paid off 340xi M-Sport beast is going to be tossed aside for another Miata. |

Last time for me (driving a car, drove a pickup today) was when I took my '66 Olds to the local cruise in around 8 weeks back. I called to get it insured a day or two before the event, and it hasn't been out of the garage since. I keep thinking that I will get it out again but between weather and work it may not happen again this year.

I sold off my last manual transmission car in 2002 or 2003 ...but all I drove for the previous ~25 years were cars with stick shifts.

Never owned an automatic so not sure I know how too drive one. Later this afternoon I will be daily driving my Nissian Pathfinder to the velodrome, exercising my right arm.

Everyday.
After teaching both sons who now daily drive manuals I'm a believer that it requires to you pay more attention to your driving. Changes in speed, hills, turns, etc. all require your input. I wish more people would drive stick. -Bob |

Was about 3 years ago, when I got current car.
Between 1981 and 2018, all I drove were stick shift cars. Been 'driving' manual transmission bikes even longer. |

Daily BMW E90. Modern automatics can be great on many levels but can't match the engagement of a stick.
