Threadless stems for neo-retro build?

Anyone have suggestions for threadless stems that look good on narrow-tubed steel bikes? I really like the specialized s-works stem, but it unfortunately only comes in black.

Most of the silver options look too "chunky", even things like the ritchey classic or Thomson.

Thoughts on silver options?

If you want a -17°, the Hunter Cycles stem is perfect... just repaint it. If you can deal with a -10° instead of a -17°, I second the Nitto SimWorks.

edit: not 90°. duh

I recently put a Velo Orange "Tall Stack Stem" on a steel bike I'm building up and it definitely has a quill stem vibe. I think it looks pretty cool. Depending on your needs it could work.

Whilst I love their (Simworks) stems I find them overpriced, I prefer to buy Nitto stems direct form Japan.

They are made by nitto and they are expensive but so are nitto stems (specially the nicer ones).

I just put a classic on my steel bike, 1in headtube too and I think looks pretty good, does not look chunky to me. I did try some that looks wrong (whiskey silver stem for example).

no model in particular. but You might wsnt to narroe the search for the 1 inch threadless stems. They might be slimmer than the 1 1/8 versions. That is if you have a 1 inch steerer.

I have some silver IRO stems as well. Usually minimal labeling.
