Are you using the latest Campy pads for carbon (either red or grey)? I find that they don't squeal, whereas the older Campy pads did unless you toed them in properly.

I am using Campy pads on my Bora’s and there is a definite buzzing with braking. It does not seem to diminish over time on my wheels. The sound does not bother me but I think the buzz is a small price to pay for better braking performance.

i have the same squealing problem with my bora ultra and the red pads. they do not squeal under normal braking situations. but when i brake a lot in our winding colorado descents, they squeal a LOT when they get hot. same with my enve 3.4.
any ideas? or is this normal? |

i've got one's, not ultras, along with a few different sets of carbon wheels....
i think the cheap blue pads available anywhere are the BEST. they wear super fast, but that's what makes them good. they are soft and brake feel is great, quiet and reliable, at least in dry conditions. try the cheap blue pads!

Thanks so far.. The Bora ones have a very different braking surface.. The 2s have the AC3 surface.. Different kettle of fish.. so still wondering if anyone has tried the Black Prince pads with the 2s..

So you are saying in your experience the Blue pads quiet down Bora 2s ?? Have you ever tried the Black Prince pads ?? And do you see any build up on the Bora 2 brake track using the blue pads,, ??

Using pads other than the red ones that come with Boras will void the warranty.
That aside, are the Reynolds blue cryo pads better than the Campy reds? |

...definitely use the red Campagnolo pads, they are soft and when toed-in properly very squeak/squeal/squack free, and a strong improvement over the original gray carbon specific Campy pads. Campagnolo recommends use of red pads on older Bora wheels with the first generation brake track...and yes, I have tried the red pads on Ultra II brake track and the difference is noticeable. I would definitely NOT use the SS Prince pads....they are hard and like sand paper and will definitely do a number on ur brake track.
