Sacramento has a lot going on (visit the Crocker Art museum, for example) and has an international airport. There's no need to fly into San Francisco and make the horrible drive to Sacramento, unless you want to visit SF.

Staying with high school buddies. Otherwise, I'd take you up on your offer.

Is this actually a thing? We have some people with some very refined taste on this Forum

There's got to be a PL group ride on the American River Bike Path from Old Sac to Folsom...

Super great ride. Temple coffee is in Sacto too which all rides should consider starting/ending at. Or insight. I really like Biergarten too. I just like Sac in general.

Unlikely, barring joostx's point of bad weather or extenuating circumstances.

Me too! Midtown is fantastic. One of my buddies from the restaurant days makes the best bread and sandwiches in Sac: Juno's Kitchen. Sacramento summer evenings will always take me back to my youth.

Apologies for the thread drift: any Sacramento natives? El Camino HS Class of '85 here. Family home was in Carmichael for 33 years.

Yes man, yes! Sacto is a completely underrated food town. Before I went Vegan I had some of the best meals of my life there. In fact, I bet I would even now as a vegan. When I was young, I spent some Summer days up there as a young punk rock kid, skateboarding, getting tattooed, record shopping.

That Tower was legend. There was a couple of other shops in mid-townish area where I bought records that for me were transformational.

Sun Soil Juice Co is outstanding for raw vegan noms. And there's a really good vegan Thai joint in midtown. Plus the Sac Food Co-Op is better than any grocery store we have in Portland...or anything I've seen in the PacNW really...
