Thanks William. Happy to take a little crap when I make a mistake. Especially when it comes to language.

I stopped seeing the Emperor's new clothes a few years ago.

Got rid of all the HT gear and stereo stuff. Just have a couple nice pairs of headphones and a couple headphone amps for sources that can't drive the headphones. Watching TV through the TV speakers does kind of suck but we never spent much time doing that anyway.

Picked up instead:
- A Taylor
- A Fender Telecaster
- A Yamaha battery powered amp and an Orange Tube Amp
- A bunch of FX
- We have a cheap Ukelele
- Signed my son up for drum lessons and we bought an Alesis electronic drum kit
- Spent way too much on lessons the last few years

Never heard any audiophile gear that can hold a candle to getting into a groove with a few other people. It can be a literal rush like winning a bike race.

Back on track,

Rega Brio-R
Rega RP3 w/Nagaoka MP110 (should really put the Elys II back on)
Apple basestation for Spotify
KEF Q100's

The KEF's are probably the weak point in the system. Holding out for a paceliner in CA to offer me their old Vandersteen's...

Nice system! I’ve owned some CJ and Krell stuff in the past, in fact I still have a Krell CD-DSP. Very nice rack, too, with the matching amp stands.

There are often pairs of 2Ci Vandys on Craigslist for $400-900 but they would be pretty expensive to ship cross-country. The earlier versions had foam surrounds so they would either need to be re-done or probably woud have already been done. If you call Vandersteen he can tell you when they quit using foam surrounds and then shop accordingly. I had to re-foam my original Model 2 speakers when they were about 14 years old. I later traded them back to Richard and got a new pair of 2C ie Signatures. I think that's the model. I doubt I will ever part with them.

So we had some texts about Vandersteen speakers and I see a pair of 2 ce listed on CL in San Diego complete with stands and original boxes which would help a lot in shipping. They look good in the pix and it looks like they are not just 2 ce but Signature models which had some further tweaks. I think $495 is a very good price. That's all I know about them.

Shunyata Hydra 6 & PS8 power conditioners
Full loom on Sain Line systems cables (IC, power & speaker)

Everything located on a self designed high mass hard maple floating isolation stand using integrated Sorbothane 50 pads.

All components further placed on Sorbothane 30 pads on stand.

It plays 1 record at a time if you move the arm thingy.
Current state of the listening space. A work in progress on a number of levels.

Expect to use about half the 703 panels currently leaning against the front wall. Hoping that 3 mounted horizontally about 6" away from the front wall and from 6" to 30" high should have a similar effect. This is based in large part on addressing first reflections from the front wall for the rear firing ported subs.

Rack is a prototype 1 unit x 4 unit configuration that has a unique floatation and isolation design compared to most single mass designed racks. The final one will be a 3 x 3 setup to hold all components and amps. I will also change it from using coupling feet as the prototype uses currently (did not work out for this floor) to using isolation feet instead.

Biggest weakness or limiting factor in my system is my turntable and cart. The Rega Exact2 cart is a fun one and the old VPI does an admirable job, but a lot of room for improvement there. Looking at the VPI Classic 1 and Pro-Ject Xtension 12 on the used market.

Naim 250
Naim cds2
Fanfare tuner
Harbeth super HL5 anniversary
Streaming was through a Naim atom

Just recently acquired the Naim Nova..
The main system just got simplified using only the Naim nova ,harbeths & Cds2

The main system hasn't been revised for a decade ( with the exception of the atom & the nova )

The atom is now running a pair of ProAc DT8s at the other house
