Ibis Silk Ti Retro-Mod

So this bike has been a while in the making. Bike came to me as a single speed with lots of original parts several years ago. Rode and raced it a bit while collecting the parts. John Caletti welded the disk tab and did some bead blasting and Adam Schwarcz at Oakland Service Course did the building and trouble shooting of putting a whole bunch of new(er) parts on an old frame (and he took these cool pictures). Pretty excited. Not slack, not long and not low but pretty sure it'll still be a great ride!

Nice!

Mine is still running cantis but sporting a Fox 32. Sourced new rear elastomer from Castellano. Spoke w/ Steve Potts about converting the frame to disc but haven't pulled the trigger. Really a sweet design!

Maybe silly question here, but are these 26" wheels (like OEM) or did you squeeze 27.5 in there?

Looks great! Fantastic bike.

Sweet bike! I love the resto-mods - regardless of what purists might say. I remember eying one on close-out sale at Lombardi Sports way back in the day.

Love it, I have a Lynskey Ridgeline SS that I converted to 1 x and I love it. 26" wheels are still great IMO.

Interesting build up as a 1x.... I've been holding onto a Silk Ti frame myself, debating on how I'd like to gear it.

Your bike gave me some good ideas! Have you ridden it much yet? How do you feel about the set up?
