Thumbs up New Chapman! coming this weekend!

I'm very excited to be able to pick up this bike this weekend! I was lucky to meet and befriend Brian a few years back when he was in town for Philly Bike Expo. He was hiding a couple of his show bikes at the shop I worked in at that time. He was patient enough to hang out while myself and my coworkers oogled the bikes and all the tight, deliberate, and purposefully integrated parts on his bikes. I was pretty certain at that time he'd have an order from me in the future.

Fast forward a couple years and I gave my deposit. A year of waffling on the concept and Brian being exceptionally patient brought us to the design last fall. I knew I wanted this bike to be my "everything" bike. I'm lucky to have a few special bikes: a Colnago, a Bruce Gordon, a Bilenky, but I knew this bike would reflect meaning of this time in my life and I wanted it to stand out from the others.

And now, through waiting for parts availability, new tools, and tracking down the perfect mix of 1960s Porsche Bahama Yellow paint we're here and the bike is ready!

Here are Brian's thoughts on his Flickr:
Quote:
I don't build a lot of bikes with disc brakes, let alone hydraulic disc brakes. This was a fun project. Fillet brazed frameset with a mix of Columbus/True Temper/Reynolds, 2x11 Ultegra drivetrain, Praxis Works crankset and T47 bottom bracket, ENVE carbon rims on White Industries/Shutter Precision hubs, Schmidt lighting, custom racks powdercoated black, Zipp bar/stem/post, Integrated Lezyne pump, Ti hardware throughout
And photos Brian took:

Plenty more on his Flickr and Instagram

I'll post some in-progress work photos after I meet this beauty Sunday afternoon. And you'll all probably just be bombarded with photos of this bike from now till the end of time.

Wow, attention to detail is amazing as ususual. You mind sharing some basic geo numbers, it really looks like that thing might fit me (clears throat lustingly).

Safety wires. Now we're talking PRO. Just about everyone skips that step ;-)
Nicely done.

Great language. Will come in handy when justifying one of these to my SO!

I've wanted Brian to build me one since visiting his shop a couple of years ago. I guess it's time to get in the cue before he gets to, like, five year wait.
