Parlee Z5i and wheelset fitting
Hi there, first time poster!
I have a Parlee Z5i and I love it, but am looking to upgrade the wheelset, and this is the only issue with the bike—tight frame. I have mailed Parlee support, but no help, so hope you all can help instead. I wanted to see if Enve 3.4 would fit without framerub, running Force22 groupset no disc. I'm open on what tires, but have in the past loved 25mm GP4000II, but 23mm would work too of course. I hear they might be too wide for the frame? Any experience with what fits without rubbing, and what tires I can use? Any guidance is really appreciated. Thank you /Kristian |

23s fit fine on 3.4s, 25s would be very tight in the rear.

Thanks kramnnim, is it from personal experience or? and the 25 "would be very tight", but would they fit without rubbing?
Thanks again. |

Yeah, I had a Z5 and still have the 3.4s. Used 23mm GP4ks. There was a few mm of room on either side. Not sure how much wider 25s are. A friend with a Z5 and...A23 rims (?) uses 25mm tires and I think the tire was rubbing the battery or something...forgot what he did to fix it. I think the Enve rim would be a little wider?

Have a Z5 with 6.7s and run 25mm Evo Corsa Tubulars. No issues.

Yeah the 3.4 and 6.7 are 24mm on the rear and 26mm in the front. So even if it works with 23mm tires (and potentially 25mm) it would be awesome!

A23 + GP4000 700x23 has barely any room to spare in the rear on my Z5Sli (hiii kram)
They balloon up to 24.8+ after stretching out a while. I had to offset my Di2 battery so it wouldn't rub under sprint efforts. |

23s or 25s? I thought you were using 25s...

Nope, 23s.. they turn into almost-25s after fitting to the wide rims and expanding after a few rides/heat cycles.

I am barely able to fit some vittoria pave 27 tubies on Belgium rims in the Z5, but it is very very tight.

Chainstays, they come to a V at the BB.
Edit: Well, more V than U. And the BB is narrower than BB86 and the chainstays stay round. Last edited by kramnnim; 04-08-2016 at 11:27 PM. |

Just run 23s or else buy a mountain bika.
Oh, 25s are aight. 28s kick azz. You don't have a bika designed for 28s. end of story |
