New reason to spend your money

Classified power shift hub gear. Will this be a winner?

Now THAT is too cool. I'm surprised it's taken this long.

Side note, back in my bike shop days I was the 2 speed kick back and 3 speed hub "guy." I was actually the only guy to read the Sturmy Archer repair book!

Regardless, I really like what they've created. Beats a front derailleur all day long.

Cool stuff. I suspect with the shift to ebikes in the global market we're going to see a lot of innovation in drivetrains, moving towards internal gearbox solutions with much longer maintenance cycles.

I was the only one in my shop (sr in high school) to do successful surgery of Sturmy Archer hub also. Never opened a Huret however.

I had a Huret rear derailleur from some English frameset I acquired from somebody someday. That's my story I'm sticking to it.

If this is what I think the right brand is, it’s mainly intended for bikes that are otherwise 1x.

I wonder how much more efficient that is than having a full set of internal gears and ditch derailleurs altogether -> perfect chainline

Probably the coolest thing I've seen in a long time plus Tom Boonen possibly backing it up? Thats rad!

I heard about this for the first time in this article about Tom Boonen’s new bike — he’s apparently an investor in the company:

Hasn’t this been available in the Ridley travel bike for around a year? It’s expensive, so I’m not surprised it has had limited adoption, including the proprietary cassette. Cool concept, hopefully it can be developed more.

Hmm..seems like on multi gear bikes, the 'weak link' is the rear der, not the front.
Shifter still there..1 CR instead of 2..no front der. IMHO, on a road bike, front shifting(particularly Di2 and EPS) is near to flawless.

So...gonna be that guy..$2600 to remove the front der and double crank(and gotta buy a 1by crank..or mod yours(?)).....'Maybe' an application to GRoad bikes but again, in real sloppy stuff, the rear der is the 'long pole in the tent'..not the front.
