Cool.
But where is Joni Mitchell’s set? |

Nice jab!
As we all know, Joni Mitchell famously turned down an invitation to play at Woodstock (to appear on the Dick Cavett TV show), and wrote the iconic song "Woodstock" while watching television coverage of the festival from her New York City hotel room. I guess she regretted not going. |

Worth noting also the contrast in the two versions of the song-hers is reflective, sparse, a bit melancholic or even elegaic. CSNY version is all raucous celebration. Last edited by marciero; 08-15-2019 at 08:28 PM. |

She says it was her managers idea to not risk missing Cavett by getting stuck at Woodstock.
Can't see how CSNY could influence her decision, or saying it was "no place for a girl" when Joan, Janis and Grace were going. . Last edited by Tony T; 08-15-2019 at 08:58 PM. |

Like that the Woodatock 2019 didn't happen.
How can you recreate a random assemblage of talented musicians, in a time of turmoil, and get bumped from venues right before the event, and then have them all play through the night in weather? Can't be done with modern technology apparently..

There was a lot of memorable and forgetabble music and an expression of one view of that generation. During the same time, August 15-18, there were about 109 American deaths in Vietnam. I will never be able to forget the juxtaposition of those two occurrences. Jimmy Hendrix was amazing.
