Serotta brake bolts?
Looks like a missplaced the pair i had for a meivici framset. Guess i need both front f3 and rear (carbon stays) bolts that were specific for these frames / forks.
These are same as reynolds ouso right? Where do one source these today? Is there an easy mod perhaps to other bolts that can be done? Thanks |

Wasn't it just a longer nut? The bolt end was always on the brake caliper.
I made sure to always save the one that came with my Serotta back when I had it. (I had an F3 fork) But I thought these weren't that hard to get from a LBS through the distributors. I highly doubt Serotta had to get those made special for them, there were probably other forks which used the longer nuts. Maybe it was a Shimano part. If it turns out to be that hard I'd go asking someone like Dave Kirk. Here are a couple potential Shimano PNs: 18mm Recessed brake caliper nut: Y85574310 32mm Recessed brake caliper nut: Y8A023210 Both of them came up on Universal Cycles when I searched in google. As i remember they were just a tad thinner so most other bolts would not fit.
But dont have the frame to check. Oh and yeah i guess its the nut i need but language and that .. |

I have used these for carbon stays before. Not Serotta, but may work.

If you can't source one from an LBS, eBay would be another source. |

Yes, Reynolds. You can get them directly from them.

You need these two pieces (although it seems they are the same size, front and rear? I do not know, as I only ever bought the one for the fork):
Fork: TITANIUM Reynolds / Serotta F3 Carbon Fork Brake Caliper OEM Nut Bolt Ouzo Pro Rear: Titanium Serotta Rear Brake Nut Bolt for Meivici Ottrott Nove Fierte iT Frames It looks like the fork nut is sold out, if the two are in fact different sizes, but PM him here or on eBay (I think the name is the same), and he will surely help. Very nice, professional guy when I corresponded with him. |

Is it a length issue or a diameter issue? I've a variety of brake nuts with different size heads and lengths and just shorten with a dremmel to fit frames/forks as needed.. but I don't recall ever worrying about diameter.
My Serotta Nove has a Reynold's fork of some sort and the above worked fine. |

Sure, easy to do. The Reynolds/Serotta brake nut is very slightly smaller in diameter so a careful sanding of a ‘regular’ brake nut will work.

Put the brake Bolt in the jaws of a drill and spin against sandpaper. Doesn't take much.
