Bonkers win.. just watched the highlights. Amazing photos too. Took me a while to realize I was there 30 something years ago. Those photos make it look even more old-timey than I remember.

Some of those sticky looking wet gravel roads looked sketchy as hell on slick tires.

I was also quite taken by just how slow he rode into the finish.. seems like something you would never have seen in the pre-radio era. Gotta be crazy to know you are 1Km+ ahead of the next chasing rider!

That was a great watch. Surprised that Kuss was dropped on the attack.
I hear POG is riding both the Giro and TDF this year. His only meaningful competition for the Giro is G Thomas and he is 37 years old. I don’t see it being a close race. Vingigo looks as good as last year so I think it’s going to be a hard ask for Pog to win going against him and Visma.

I hope to the Cycings Gods . . .

. . . that it doesn't turn out he's been taking something. I really like the guy along with everyone else.

I know, I know . . . But after all the drug problems pro cycling has been having over the years, it would sadly not be a surprise.

He seems to just love bicycle racing. I like to cheer for that kind of competitor.

Amazing win.

I wonder if the outcome would have been different had MVDP or WVA been in the race.

Great win. Putting the name of the winner in the thread title…sigh.

FYI; Title was a spoiler even without 'spoiler' in the title.

This. While Pogs win and the manner he got it was amazing, the race unfolded heavily in his favor after he went and a concerted chase never really happened. That is not to discount his move and everyone else's inability to follow it (despite him literally calling his shot ahead of time), but in a race with with WVA and MvDP and I think he gets brought back. Might not have changed the outcome, but the last 80k would have been more interesting.
