What’s wrong with this picture?
Well not really wrong, but unexpected. I’ve had this bike about 15 years and didn’t pick up on it until after I rode it yesterday.

The good news is that those shift pins are still like new.

A bit pixely but does the crank say Chorus?

It does and that’s what surprised me, but after some research I guess it shouldn’t have.

Someone's going to have to explain to me why it would be surprising that a crank would have "Chorus" printed on it.

Anyway, it’s a Chorus 10 crank with hidden 5th spider arm which I always thought was a feature of Record cranks. I guess I’ve just paid attention to that in C Record and 8 speed era. I just browsed through some 10 speed catalogs and looks like the hidden arm was on both Chorus and Record. Not as unusual a find as I first thought. Live and learn. |

"...it’s a Chorus 10 crank with hidden 5th spider arm ..."
Didn't this happen when Record went carbon? (VeloBase stops at these later years.)
