I am sorry for your loss. Nice tribute, though. I always read the only way to get over a dog's death is to get another one, so you know what to do

Penelope- an old girl who still has her puppy moments. Not sure how much longer she will be with us so we make the most out of each day.

These were my two Akitas, Sanson (black head, male) and Arashi (tricolor female). We let Sanson go to a happier place about 3 years ago, and Arashi just 2 weeks ago. I'm so grateful for the joy and love they gave us.

Meet Lemmy (The Ace of Spades) guarding the smoker (or hoping I'll drop something out of it).

He got his name as he had a really funny mole on his face as a puppy and it seemed incongruent with the breed (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). He has entered the grumpy old man phase of dogdom (he is 8) but is generally ok with the kids (4.5 yr old and 10 month old).

This is Gretchen. A rescue when she was 2 and now 10. A mix of Chow and something. She has a personality that is almost cat like. Very aloof to strangers but loves me and my wife. She will lay down in the shade in the middle of a parking lot just to watch the world go by. The most mellow dog I know.

Here's Max, our cavachon. He's turning 12 later this year and is the love of our lives! (Don't tell the kids!)

Our Max just loves to sit in some cars. He will sit and wait to get into our daughter's Q5, and her A4 prior... He spent most of last weekend sitting in our Q7, comfortable in his travel bed, and away from the smelly and noisy small dogs in my parents' house. (We're in the process of moving my parents and the house is a literal **** show...the dogs have never been trained properly...fortunately they are not going with my parents...)
