As for the tape - I was set from the start to use the Grepp. I like what they're doing, less **** in the landfills. Besides, trying not to over-do the orange, the fork and some of the decals keep it subtle. And I'll probably mostly end up running chunky blackwalls on here. Adding more orange and it might just look like Haloween which I was trying to avoid. ;D Thanks. I got out on the single track yesterday where I usually take my 26" Knowing I'd be up there I put on a different front wheel with a 35mm Panaracer Cinder X . It was better than the Cava slick but still I almost killed myself.

trying some new tires
![]() Specialized Pathfinder Pro 38s They roll ok, but not as good as the Ultra Dynamico's that came off, which is to be expected, though these certainly better in the loose stuff. Just need to get the GT finished so this can relinquish road duties. I should have gotten the tanwalls... ![]()

I test rode a bike to possibly buy that had Gevenalle shifters. It was surprisingly natural after a few minutes to adjust to the different mechanics.

I bought them for the ability to span the cassette with a flick and I was surprised the ergonomics are as good as they are too. Indexed perfectly with the XT 11spd cassette. My buddy rides them on a 3x8 in full friction and they're great like that too. It's a a tiny bit awkward going to my tallest gear though I'm not large nor are my hands.

i'd avoided gravel kings for their ubiquity but picked up a tire lot here in the classifieds that came with these 35's...damnit they're good !
for my usual ride which is mostly paved they're better overall than the pathfinder pros but surprisingly their also better in the gravely / dirt areas when I cut through the state park for a few miles. its not loose enough to take advantage of the side tread on the pathfinders and the gk's have a larger and textured contact patch. ![]() ![]()

Fat Chance, Ritchey, Bontrager, GT and VooDoo hold a lot of good 90s MTB memories for me. Love to see that old Ti getting some affection. Beautiful ride.
