Ellis Cycles Strada Fango

New bike heading my way! Dave and I went back and forth a lot on what fork to use. He recommended a few carbon forks but I think we settled with the best option - a custom fork built by him. Gave me more clearance, 3 bosses for cages and routing for a dyno wire if/when I run a light.

Have a ti Chris King headset on the bike with all silver bits. Ritchey classic stem and post. All City Go Devil hubs in silver.

I love this. That fork crown is totally sick. I want one just like it!

That looks like a mini-version of Dave's personal bike that he showed at 2013 NAHBS. I love this bike!

It's the same color as that bike! Definitely was the inspiration along with RudAwkning's Strada Fango that I'd lusted over for a few years

How are you enjoying the bike so far? Any thoughts or observations? Anything you’d do different?

Thanks

The bike has been great, thanks. I'm in western Montana and it's been great as a gravel bike and pseudo mountain bike. Been taking it out on the single track and have also done some longer days on it.

Only thing I think I would have done differently is go Sram AXS instead of di2. Since I wanted the wider range, I had to go with the XT derailleur. I think I've finally got it all dialed in, but that derailleur with the Sunrace 10-46 just never wanted to shift quite right.

If there is a Shimano-made cassette with the range you like, you should definitely try that. My newest non-Shimano cassette isn't as good as the current Ultegra.

I finally have it dialed, it just took a bit of work. I wanted to run the Sunrace for the 10T on the high end and the jumps on the low end are a bit nicer compared to Shimano. The Sunrace jumps from 40 to 46 whereas the Shimano is 37 to 46.
