No idea, but given that John Caletti is right there in town with the seller, you could just have it delivered to him for touch up. John's a super nice guy -- I'm not saying he'd do it, but if I were considering it that's what I'd do.

Universal Cycles has some sweet close out deals on Brooks Bags. My daily is the Pitfield and was already thinking of getting a refresh bag. So the timing is great for me. Also great price on the Cambrium C13 btw

"I know who he is. he sells on Facebook at times. he screwed me on wheels and a guy named Antonio. he used to own a bike shop in New York, one in Georgia, two in Florida and now one in Colorado. he jumps around when people catch up to him. "

approach with caution?

Franklin Frames Reynolds 531 Steel Tubing 23" Frame - $450

SOLD

Franklin Frames Reynolds 531 Steel Tubing 23" Frame - $450
Franklin Frames bike frame built here in Columbus back in the mid 80s. Lugged ends and hand brazed. I told "him" to leave off the Franklin Frames decals. He gave me the Reynolds 531 decals and I cut one short with scissors and stuck it on the seat tube. I am the original owner.

Reynolds 531 steel tubing is made in England. It's double butted, meaning that the steel tubing is thicker on the ends and thinner in the middle.

Was painted with Dupont Imron by Franklin Frames.

This has a road race bike geometry. Conservative. Does very comfortable 100 mile rides.

I am the original owner. Reason for selling? I am now 71 years old and can't ride these kinds of bikes anymore.

This bike has been in storage for 20 years. All in all, I'd say it has about 1,000 miles on it.

It is a 23 inch frame with a 40 inch wheel base. (I am 5' 11" with 33" inch legs.) Rides in a straight line with hands off of the bars. Never been wrecked or had an accident. Wheels are straight. Overall condition is Very Good +++ if not Excellent.

List of components is long.

Dura Ace 52/42 crank. Shimano front derailer. Made in France, Huret Jubilee rear derailer. SunTour cam lever shifters. SunTour 6 speed cog (26-13). Dia Compe Aero brakes. MKS RX-1 pedals. Specialized sealed wheel hubs. 700c rims/wheels. Special light weight seat post and water bottle cage. Made in Italy, Campagnolo headset and Cinelli stem and handle bars. Top quality stuff!

Extras.........Italian made Silca frame pump (does up to 95 lbs pressure). Seat bag. Spare folded clincher. Spare tube.

Back in the late 80s, I did a 210 mile/15 hour ride on this bike! Average speed was around 16 mph. An excellent road bike!

I remember the weight being around 22 to 24 lbs. I'm not sure about the weight.

Taking into account inflation, in 80s money, I spent around $2,700 for this bike in 2023's money.

I just saw on eBay that the Huret Jubilee rear derailers are selling for around $200. I guess that I could part out this bike and sell it piece by piece for max money on eBay but I'd rather sell it whole.

In this day and age of "retro" being popular..............this is a wonderful bike to own! Looks great! Rides great!

$450 cash.

With the exchange rate this could be interesting for someone here maybe with some further price negotiation. Probably don’t have time to pack it up, but could pick up and drop off at a shop for packing/shipping. I consider snagging it but I already have a 753 Waterford I don’t have time to clean up.

If anyone has a 3XL they'd want to trade for a 2XL, I am so down!
