Question C12 crank creak every rotation driving me mad

Hey, folks. C12 crank has a creak during almost every pedal rotation at the same spot. I'm going to disassemble, clean and reinstall this weekend. I'm looking for preventative steps here. Nothing out of the ordinary on setup: SR cups, ti frame, C12 crank.

What are you doing to stop and prevent creaks?

A number of us have found the chainring bolts to loosen on these. Check that first

Ride w/o cycling shoes.
If still there, swap pedals.
If still there, swap rear wheel

Seated? Standing? May be headset, bars, stem. front wheel, QRs, thru-axles.
If still there, then look at crank, BB, CR bolts.

Press fit BB or threaded? Maybe teflon tape, lotsa grease(yes, even in 'Cult' bearings)..

Had a click/squeak on every pedal rotation on a titanium frame. Drove me nuts. Tried many solutions (and during this journey found a tiny crack in the rear derailleur hanger… but no, that wasn’t it).

Finally, greasing (well, Ti-prep) the facing surface of the BB resolved the issue.

In similar vein, just try some one-legged cycling with the other foot unclipped.

Someone posted the Campagnolo info that the bolts should be checked every 2000km.

Thanks, all! After a morning with my son in the workshop, we have everything tightened up.

Also, my son has been in between a balance bike that's too small and a bike with training wheels (never should have used training wheels) and brought his bike over to work on, too. We removed the training wheels and pedals and I said, just zoom around the drive without pedals and see how it rides and after about 5 mins he asked for the pedals back on and now we have a two wheeler after another 5!

Good morning together, big day for him, and we fixed the creak!

Oddly enough, I've known a rear quick release lever being less than tight to create the very same creak as the right pedal passes mid-stroke.

I've seen this many times actually, partly the result of the dirt-induced friction that can plague the concave plastic washer on modern (i.e. lightweight, open-cam) QR levers.

Recently solved this mystery after installing new chain by replacing old chainring.

Rear skewer if it’s through axle- especially s as DT Swiss or bontrager style. Grease the splines for the lever pull out

Any idea what was casing it?

Granddaughters both had balance bikes but never really took to them. Both had bikes with training wheels but when THEY said, "let's try w/o them"...off they came and in 2 minutes were riding like a 'pro'..so...YMMV and all that.
